Groundhog Day is a movie produced by Harold Ramis in 1993. It is a comedy movie featuring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. The story is based on Groundhog Day which is celebrated in US and Canada on February 2 each year to commemorate the event of a weather predicting groundhog. On Groundhog Day, a groundhog will come out of its burrow and if it sees no shadow then the winter will end soon but if it sees its own shadow then it will move back to its burrow and winter will be for around for another six months.

The movie is based on the same event but with a little twist. Bill Murray who plays the character Phil Collins is a weatherman on an assignment to cover the Groundhog Day in Punxsutawney and end up living the same day, which is February 2 over and over again. This event leads him to examine his life and priorities. The movie script is written by Rubin. The main theme of the movie is about self improvement. Overall it is a heart warming story and it is definitely worth watching. I would give two thumbs up for this movie. With a nice and creative plot, it has been ranked as the 181st popular movie in 2008 by IMDB.
